Conspiracy (Chapter 26)
Okay, sorry about not double updating... Life has been kind of weird for me right now, but I think that it's all straightened out. x) So here's chapter 26. Hope you like it though it's another boring chapter. More drama will kick in soon, promise! ;)

"I love you," she whispered against his cheek.
"I love you too, but let's go, come on," he said before grabbing her waist lightly and picking her up with him. He set her down and walked back down the ladder, reaching for her hand when she wouldn't move. "I'm not the most graceful person in the world," Hayley said, eyeing the ladder. "What do you mean?" Alex asked out of the window. "I'm a klutz," she replied, earning a laugh from Alex.
"Hayley, I'll catch you if you fall," he said. "You're inside the window," Hayley said, doubting that he'd be able to catch her without falling down too. "Hayley, you're going to be fine," Alex said. Hayley sighed and clutched the ladder before climbing down slowly. Her foot slipped slightly and Alex shot his arm out to catch her if she fell. She regained her balance and climbed back on the ladder and through the window.
"So, you're a klutz, huh?" Alex asked wrapping his arms around Hayley's tiny figure. She nodded briefly. "I'm surprised you haven't noticed," she said. "Hayley, I don't pay attention to your tiny flaws, just you," he said before kissing her forehead. Hayley smiled and rested in his arms before they heard a deep voice clearing his throat. Both looked to the door and saw Peter and Isobel standing in the doorway.
Hayley blushed and pulled herself out of Alex's grip. "You guys are going to miss your flight if you don't hurry up," Isobel said. "Oh, okay," Alex said, letting Hayley leave the room first. "Are you sure that she's not another Lisa?" Peter muttered to Alex. Alex smiled. "Watch," he muttered back. When everyone reached the bottom of the staircase, Alex slapped his hand loudly on Hayley's backside.
Her arm instinctively flung back. Alex caught it and smiled teasingly at Hayley. She glared at him playfully and shook her head. "Don't do that," she said before Alex pulled her against him, looking back at his parents, whose eyebrows were rose in surprise. Lisa would have just let Alex go ahead and do that because she wanted him around her that way; every time they were like that, Lisa thought that if they were like that more, then Alex would become more attracted to her so she could have more of his money. Hayley just wanted Alex for him, not for his money.
After Alex had hugged his parents' goodbye, they gave Hayley another hug before the couple left the house. After Alex heard the door shut, he wrapped his arms around Hayley's waist and rested his chin on her shoulder. "They love you," he said before kissing her neck. "Are you sure, they seemed kind of quiet around me," Hayley replied. "They barely met you, I'm sure they'll open up soon," he said. "Really?" Hayley asked. "Yes," he said before kissing her lightly and walking around to the driver's side of the car.
After arriving at the airport, Alex and Hayley only waited for two hours before the next plane would take them to Seattle, where Hayley was quite nervous to go. She didn't know what the test results would be, and she didn't know if she wanted to. Hayley sighed when they sat down. She yawned and looked at the clock on her cell phone. 8:43. She rested her head on Alex's shoulder and put her cell phone back in her pocket.
She sighed when Alex started rubbing her back. "You seem nervous," he noted. Hayley sighed, Alex could see right through her. "I'm fine," she lied, before groaning internally. Even she herself could tell that she was lying. "Will you please tell me the truth?" Alex asked. Hayley sighed and relaxed in his grip. "It's nothing, you wouldn't understand," she said. "I could try," Alex responded quickly.
Hayley sighed and looked down. "I'll talk to you about it later," she said. Alex sighed and pulled away from her, making Hayley frown. She was just worried; Alex didn't need to be so upset about it. The only thing that was worrying her was her period. It hadn't come yet. Honestly, it was nothing that really had to do with Alex, but Hayley let a few tears slide down her pale cheeks anyways. She wiped them away quickly. She'd told herself so many times not to cry about a celebrity, and here she was, crying right in front of one. This made her feel so weak and vulnerable.
Alex sighed and turned to Hayley after a few minutes when she hadn't spoken. Her back was facing him, so he moved the armrest and grabbed her waist, pulling her next to him so he could see her face. When he did, he regretted it. Though she was trying to hide her face, he could still see tear streaks on her cheeks. He sighed again and pulled her against him, letting her cry into his chest. "I'm so sorry," Alex murmured, kissing the side of her head over and over again.
Hayley frowned, knowing that Alex had seen her crying. Hayley pushed him away lightly, but stayed where she was. She didn't want him feeling bad, to be honest, she didn't even know why she was crying. This time of her life was confusing her. She didn't know what was wrong with her. First she was throwing up, and now mood swings? There was something seriously wrong with her. Now Hayley wanted to see the test results. Nothing would be easier than knowing what was wrong with her.
"I'm sorry Hayley, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings," Alex said. "It's not your fault, I hardly know why I was crying," Hayley replied, trying to make him feel that it wasn't his fault. "I'm still sorry that you were crying because of me," Alex said then kissed her cheek before Hayley suddenly pulled his mouth against hers, biting his lip softly. He pulled away for a little bit. "Are you okay?" He asked seriously.
"I don't know," she replied.

The next day, Alex and Hayley drove to Cheyenne's house, Hayley fidgeting once again. She was sure that there was something incredibly wrong with her, and she wanted to know, as did Alex. He was worried about her, especially because of the mood swings; those really frightened him because one minute, Hayley would be okay and they next, she would be crying because he'd swatted a fly.
Alex pulled up at Cheyenne's house and both sat in the car for a couple minutes. "What if I'm seriously ill?" Hayley asked. "Then I'll be here with you. I'm here for nine months remember?" Alex noted. "What if I die?" Hayley asked. Alex got out of the car, and shut the door harder than usual and walked around to open hers. She got out of the car quietly and walked to the front door with Alex.
She knocked on the door and George answered. "Hello Hayley, Alex, come in," he said, letting Alex and Hayley in the door to find Samantha scurrying around the living room with Cheyenne sitting down, watching TV. "Chey, have you seen my keys?" Samantha asked, knowing that Alex and Hayley were standing there. Cheyenne looked over at her mom. "They're in your hand," she said.
"Oh," Samantha said then turned to Hayley and Alex. "Your test results came back, Hayley," she said. "I know, what's wrong with me?" Hayley asked. Cheyenne got up, suddenly interested in the conversation. "Well, there's nothing wrong with you, per se, but there will be if you don't come to the hospital with me right now," Samantha said. "Wait, can you at least tell me what's wrong?" Hayley asked now worried. Samantha sighed and looked at Hayley for a moment. "Hayley, you're pregnant," Samantha said. Hayley, Alex, and Cheyenne's mouths' dropped in shock.
"I'm what?" Hayley asked afraid. "You're pregnant, you have a baby growing inside of you, but we need to go get an ultrasound right now, come on," Samantha said. Hayley couldn't wrap her head around it. This all came so fast. How did this happen? Well, she knew how it happened, but when?
She finally realized it was when she and Alex were at the motel a month ago and they weren't really being too careful, just thinking about the other and how much they wanted it. Hayley sighed when she was pulled outside and in the backseat with Alex. Nobody spoke on the way to the hospital. Everybody was too shocked to speak.
When they got there, Alex refused to leave Hayley's side, but he had to wait in the waiting room. Hayley walked into a room alone with a doctor and a big machine. "So Hayley, I take it that you're pregnant?" The doctor asked. Hayley nodded. "Yes," she said. "Well, we're going to do an ultrasound to make sure the baby is healthy and breathing normally," he said.
"Okay, can you determine the gender?" Hayley asked. The doctor shook his head. "No, it's too early, but in a few months we can," he said before instructing her to lie down on a table and he brought in a nurse to rub some slimy stuff on her stomach.
When the ultrasound was finished, the doctor told Hayley that the baby was healthy and that there was nothing to worry about. Hayley was happy about that, but she didn't know if she was ready to be a mother yet. She was only seventeen, and the father was twenty-one. Oh God. If her father found out about this, he'd kill her.
She sighed and walked into the waiting room where everyone was. She was worried when Alex wasn't there. She had thousands of thoughts running through her mind. Did Alex decide to leave her because of the baby? Did he not want to be a dad and decided to text her later to tell her that it was over? Hayley wanted to cry just thinking about him leaving her to be a single mom to this baby inside of her.
She sat down next to Cheyenne and sighed, preparing for the worst. "Where's Alex?" Hayley asked.
